Summer Nostalgically
- Dedicated to all the people fighting in the Russian invaded Ukraine.
The spring and summer seasons in Tokachi, Hokkaido, pass by in the blink of an eye. When the snow melts, wildflowers, called "spring ephemerals," begin to bloom, and when the sun begins to shine strongly, the Tokachi Plain, a breadbasket region, is filled with crops and summer flowers all around.

One hot summer day, I took two of my travel companions, both women in their 20s, to a park on the outskirts of Obihiro City called "Rokka no Mori" (meaning "forest blooming the six kinds of wildflowers"), where they could walk in the forest and appreciate art. They were single at the time, but five years ago they met the love of their lives, got married, and had a child. They are now living a peaceful life, busy raising their children.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. In the past year and a half, the people of eastern Ukraine have lost their homes, farmland, and families, and have been deprived of their future. I hope that the tension that "Japan may also be invaded by a neighboring country" will become a groundless fear.
We who live in the present have an obligation to pass on tomorrow to our children who will be born. We have a duty to tell them how to discern the truth in a world full of fakes.

Fruitful lands, lush forests, and the sun shining down from the canopy of trees. Ukraine's destroyed landscapes will be restored by supporters from around the world who want to see Ukraine rebuilt. We can only hope that after many seasons, our future children will be able to restore a beautiful and prosperous Ukraine.

Glory to Ukraine!
